Thomas has been sick all weekend so I made this smoothie to give him an extra kick of protein and nutrition. When I told him I was going to make him a chocolate banana smoothie he added, “and peanut butter?”. Yes! And peanut butter! I always make a whole batch first, pour mine out, and then add the protein powder to his. Then I adjust it based on how it tastes at that point, because the protein powder changes everything. You can stop at the point before the protein powder if you like. Mine was AMAZING! Here’s what I used…
Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Green Smoothies
2 big servings or several normal sized ones!
3 c. chocolate non-dairy milk (i used the pure almond dark chocolate, but you can do milk + raw cacao for a raw smoothie)
1/2 c. filtered water
2-3 c. frozen chopped spinach
2 frozen bananas
~3 tbsp. peanut butter
then I poured out my serving and added:
1.5 scoops of raw vegan protein powder
an additional frozen banana
1 tbsp. peanut butter
1 tbsp. raw cacao powder
These were unbelievably AWESOME! Too decadent for an everyday smoothie, but SO good!
